As the President of The Atlantic Group Connecticut, Dave Spannaus brings his in-depth knowledge of the furniture procurement business, his organizational skills and understanding of company expansion management to this growing company.
Originally from Westchester County, Spannaus has always had the competitive edge; he played hockey at Elmira College, was on a national championship team in 1980, and continues to referee professionally today.
This spirit carries over into his career. In 1983, Spannaus worked in the furniture industry serving Westchester and Fairfield Counties for seven years, and in 1990 he moved to North Carolina to manage various dealers and coordinate a four-state region for Open Plan Systems, a re-manufacturer of systems products. He quickly earned his reputation as strong leader and astute salesman; seven years later, was recruited by WB Wood where he took the company's Connecticut revenues from $2 to $24 million, eventually earning promotions to COO and President. During his tenure, Spannaus was responsible for coordinating sales efforts between the New Jersey, Long Island, Connecticut and White Plains offices to expedite service for all of the company's tri-state accounts.
In 2003, The Atlantic Group began their expansion into the Connecticut market, and continually came across Spannaus as a strong competitor. They knew they had to get him on board, and they did. An industry veteran, Spannaus was immediately impressed with this dynamic, fast growing, organization that was re-building the furniture procurement model. He brings his strong relationships with brokers, architects and designers in Fairfield and Westchester counties, proven experience opening new markets, and a strong track record of managing a multiple office program to The Atlantic Group.
